U’s medical device conference expands innovator focus

MHTA – The University of Minnesota is preparing to host the world’s largest medical device conference April 10-12 on campus at University Hotel Minneapolis. The gathering will include multiple technical and scientific sessions along with workshops focused for new medical innvoators.

The Design of Medical Devices Conference is aimed at providing a national forum to bring together world-class medical device designers, researchers, manufacturers, and the public sector to share perspectives and innovations in medical device design. Organizers want to showcase the University of Minnesota as a leader in the medical device community and raise funds to support medical device education at the U.

The conference is also promoting a new one-day workshop focused on learning the essentials of being a medical technology innovator and key opinion leader. An international student design showcase will also promote and publicize excellence in medical device design by teams of undergraduate and graduate students conducted as part of their course work.

More information on the conference, keynote speakers and other programming is available through the University of Minnesota. Early-bird registration rates end March 27.
