TechAmerica Talks Merger

February 21, 2012

TechAmerica plans to present a formal proposal this week to merge with two other national technology organizations. The merger proposal, reported by Politico, is outlined in a letter TechAmerica sent to the Information Technology Industry Council and TechNet.

“We believe this proposal deserves careful consideration from all stakeholders involved to ensure that we are leveraging the strengths of all three organizations to properly represent the technology industry before government leaders in Washington, state capitals and around the globe,” said the letter.

Observers suggest TechAmerica’s federal and state governments affairs program would fit nicely with TechNet’s nationwide political operations and ITI’s Washington policy focus. The thought is the combined organizations would create a more powerful lobbying organization for the technology industry.
