Tech Experience Tours underway for 2017-2018 school year

October 31, 2017

The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) is partnering with TALENT Software Services to provide unique Tech Experience Tours for students interested in learning more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Careers and the high tech business world. During the 2017-2018 school year, we are connecting middle and high school students with high-tech companies in Minnesota.

We believe that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn about the value and variety of STEM careers. We are working with a number of education institutions and non-profit organization to provide students with the opportunity to have a first-hand encounter with a high-tech work environment. Research shows that the most effective encouragement for students to pursue a STEM career is the opportunity to meet and interact with a STEM professional.

Student tours will consist of a group of approximately 15-30 middle or high school students, including many who are considered at-risk, low income, and/or underserved populations for STEM. Companies would host tours for 1.5-2 hours per group. Tours could be held during the school day or afterschool. Student groups would be responsible for transportation.

Events could include any or all of the following: interactive/hands-on activity, breakout groups, presentation, career panel + Q&A session, tour of the workspace, and more!
