STEM Scholarship applications close April 1

MHTA -The entry period for the MHTA Foundation 2014 STEM scholarships is nearing a close. Applications will remain open until 11:59 pm on April 1. Scholarships are offered to help Minnesota undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines work toward their degrees. These awards range from $2,500 – $5,000 and can include internship opportunities at MHTA member companies.

Most scholarships are supported by the MHTA Foundation, while some are sponsored by Minnesota technology companies and groups. This year CenturyLink, The Cyber Security Summit, The Robotics Alley Conference & Expo, Thomson Reuters and Women Leading in Technology will be sponsoring scholarships. Scholarships and recipients will be highlighted during the Minnesota Tekne Awards – November 13.

For the past several years, the MHTA Foundation has supported Minnesota college students with more than $70,000 in annual scholarship awards. In 2013, 15 scholarship were awarded at the Tekne Awards. You can help MHTA support STEM education in Minnesota by encouraging STEM Scholars you know to apply for the scholarship or by donating to the cause.
