MHTA — We are excited to announce that registration is now open for our second annual Bids & Bytes Benefit, coming up on September 12 at Aria! The Minnesota High Tech Foundation’s Bids & Bytes Benefit is the 2017 technology fundraiser for everyone to attend — do business with the best in Minnesota and support STEM workforce development in one night!
Our evening at the Aria Theater will provide attendees with C-suite leaders who will be available to discuss business with service providers and others looking to work with the biggest and strongest tech companies in Minnesota. During the networking period, there will be a chance to meet the students and organizations impacted by this work. You will also be able to take part in a number of fun activities and competitions.
As the evening progresses, those interested can bid on C-suite auctions and watch the results come in live at the event. Auction items last year included a suite at Target Field, a tour of the Optum Experience Center, an exclusive backstage tour of the Minnesota Science Museum, lunch with Ecolab’s CTO, and much more!
Donating to the MHTA Foundation is an investment in the future of Minnesota’s workforce. Together, we can pool our resources and excitement to become a top-competing state for technology business, which we’re accomplishing in three ways, by:
- Educating and supporting students through our STEM scholarships and hands-on experience,
- Communicating the need for STEM-educated college graduates, and
- Partnering with the local science and technology community to build strong connections and resources.
The MHTA Foundation’s STEM Scholarships are making a difference. 2016 STEM Scholar Hope Haugstad said, “I feel beyond blessed living the dream I’ve carried for years. As a software and web engineer/analyst at Bank of America, I have learned so much in only a few short months. Working with all the latest front-end development technologies, I am a part of making next-gen ATM and financial applications to improve user experience.
“Looking back at my journey, I realize it was successful in part to organizations like MHTA who believed in my dream! I’m humbly grateful and will never forget the wonderful opportunities this scholarship carried me towards. I hope many others continue to experience the kindness and encouragement MHTA and its business partners showed me.”
