Science Museum’s Kitty Anderson Youth Science Center introducing underserved youth to STEM through social justice education
MHTA — For 20 years, the Science Museum of Minnesota’s Kitty Anderson Youth Science Center (KAYSC) has been engaging youth in grades 7-12 in science programming afterschool, on Saturdays, and during the summer. And for the last three years, students have been applying STEM Content and Computational Thinking to learn about Nutrition and advocate for Food Justice.

Every year, employees at Microbiologics vie for a seat in the conference room to see the company’s interns make their final presentation. The audience for the presentation includes senior management, supervisors and the few other employees lucky enough to land a spot. “People have been asking to get in and I’m worried that we won’t have enough room,” says Jill Stadel, HR Generalist at Microbiologics.
MHTA Foundation raises critical funds to support Minnesota’s future STEM workforce
The MHTA Foundation is pleased to announce that attendees at the 2016 Tekne Awards pledged $36,808 for the Foundation’s STEM Scholarship fund. The Minnesota High Tech Foundation (MHTF) is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 corporation founded in 1985 to promote and support excellence in science, math and technology education. The Foundation educates Minnesotans about the importance of a strong technology-based economy through outreach.
