AT&T invests $425M in Minnesota

AT&T invested nearly $425 million in its Minnesota wireless and wireline networks from 2009 through 2011 with a focus on improving the company’s mobile broadband coverage and overall performance of its networks according to a statement from the company.

MHTA Member Discount for ChangeMakers Event

MHTA – Members of the Minnesota High Tech Association can receive a discount on registration for the 12th Annual ChangeMakers breakfast March 7 at the Minneapolis Hilton hotel. The event will tackle issues important to all Minnesotans from the perspective of the innovation economy. It will begin with a welcome address by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton followed by a panel of CEOs, including Mary Brainerd of HealthParners, Best Buy’s Brian Dunn, Compellent and Xiotech Founder Phil Soran and Bahram Akradi of Life Time Fitness. Journalist Don Shelby will moderate the panel.

TechAmerica Talks Merger

TechAmerica plans to present a formal proposal this week to merge with two other national technology organizations. The merger proposal, reported by Politico, is outlined in a letter TechAmerica sent to the Information Technology Industry Council and TechNet.

Angel Tax Credit Raises $63M

MHTA-Minnesota’s relatively new Angel Tax Credit program raised more than $63 million last year. It provided funding for 113 startup companies. The figures are part of an annual summary released by the State of Minnesota.
