Unemployment edges higher
MHTA – The state unemployment rate edged 0.1 percent higher in March to a seasonally adjusted 5.8 percent, according to figures released today by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The state remained well below the U.S. unemployment rate of 8.2 percent.
Minnesota lawmakers eye April 30 adjournment
MHTA – Many of MHTA’s legislative agenda items remain wrapped up in a Minnesota House and Senate Tax Conference Committee. Lawmakers are continuing to push toward an April 30th adjournment.

Robopocalypse author to keynote fall Robotics Alley Conference
MHTA – New York Times bestselling author Daniel Wilson will headline the 2012 Robotics Alley Conference later this year in Minneapolis. Wilson, who earned a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, has published more than a dozen scientific papers and holds four patents. The conference is scheduled for November 14 and 15. Early-bird registration is currently available.
