MHTA – Despite their best efforts, legislative leaders and the Governor were unable to resolve their differences in time for their self-declared April 30 deadline to adjourn. They are continuing to negotiate an end of session deal that could include tax, bonding and stadium bills.

Region ready for UAS growth
MHTA – When President Obama signed the FAA Modernization and Reform Act a few months ago, many people saw it as the end of years of aviation funding battles. But for the community plotting the growth of pilotless drones, the President’s signature represents another long-awaited development. The FAA will now begin integrating unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into the national airspace.
Next Business Bridge event will target Marketing and Sales companies
MHTA – The Itasca Project has announced it will hold a second Minnesota Supplier Showcase in June featuring the state’s most promising and innovative marketing and sales companies. You can nominate a Minnesota-based small or medium-sized firm through the Itasca Project website.
Nominations accepted for Science & Technology Hall of Fame
MHTA – Nominations are being accepted for the next class of inductees into Minnesota’s Science and Technology Hall of Fame. MHTA and the Science of Museum of Minnesota teamed up to found the Hall in 2008. The new class will be recognized this fall at the 2012 Tekne Awards.
MHTA plans move to Minneapolis Grain Exchange building
MHTA – The Minnesota High Tech Association is planning to move its offices to the Minneapolis Grain Exchange building in downtown Minneapolis later this year. MHTA President and CEO Margaret Anderson Kelliher made the announcement at the Association’s annual Spring Conference.
