We held our final WLiT event of 2017 on October 24. We’ll have more details on 2018 events soon!

Influencing Across the Organization: Building Strategic Partnerships with the Business.

There is a current trend in the Twin Cities marketplace and within companies all over the world to turn transactional, task-oriented technology and business communities into valuable strategic partners. As an employee in Technology or other business function, you may be finding what got you to where you are today may not be enough to get you to where you need to be in the future. The emphasis on communication and consultative relationships is more critical than ever before.

In this interactive session we will discuss how to more effectively:

  • Build trust and strengthen relationships across business functions
  • Gain credibility and visibility for our teams and our projects
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients productively

Our speaker, Matt Norman, is president of Dale Carnegie Training Minnesota, a Minnesota based firm that delivers Dale Carnegie Training across the North Central United States. Dale Carnegie Training is a global organization that helps individuals and organizations achieve their goals by improving the way they communicate, influence and lead.

Matt’s coaching and facilitation has helped Fortune 100 corporations, non-profits, and entrepreneurial firms transform the way they engage employees and clients. He has worked with companies in technology, engineering, construction, professional services, financial services, healthcare, IT and professional services, manufacturing, and legal. Matt was a 2012 Minneapolis/ St. Paul Business Journal 40 Under Forty award recipient, in which he was recognized as one of the community’s top young business and civic leaders. Dale Carnegie Training Minnesota has also been recognized by MSPBJ as a top small company in its Best Places to Work awards for several consecutive years.

Women Leading in Technology (WLiT) is a program of the Minnesota High Tech Association that works to promote, educate and empower women in technology across Minnesota.
