MN Global Tech Connect: October 1- 5 Norway & Lithuania

2018.July 10.Global tech connect
October 1-5, 2018 —

The Minnesota High Tech Association is planning a business visit to Norway and Lithuania with MN High Tech members to explore opportunities for doing business in those countries.

MN High Tech is partnering with IKT Telemark, a Norwegian technology trade association, to bring a limited number of members of MN High Tech to Norway and Lithuania this October 1-5, 2018.

MHTA and IKT Telemark have partnered to expand trade relations between the technology communities of Minnesota and the Telemark region of Norway. We are interested in both helping Minnesota technology companies expand their footprint to Europe via Norway, and Norwegian technology companies partner with Minnesota companies.

If you missed our July 10 information session with Torkild Follaug, CEO of IKT Telemark, and want to learn more about this opportunity, click here for the presentation.

Travel Stipends Available
The Minnesota Trade Office has a limited number of STEP grants available to help cover the cost of traveling to Norway and Lithuania. The STEP program provides financial and technical assistance to qualifying Minnesota small businesses with an active interest in exporting products or services to foreign markets.  Learn more and apply here.

Norway & Lithuania business visit Oct. 1-5, 2018
The business visit will take place October 1-5, 2018 in an effort to establish and strengthen ties between Minnesota’s tech sector and tech sectors in Norway and Lithuania.

The visit will include content and company match-making relevant to attendees, based on their interests. To capture this information, an application form will soon be available online.

Norway & Lithuania technology sectors
Norway offers a highly developed system of industrial clusters with close cooperation between the industry and R&D institutions. The cost of setting up R&D activities is internationally competitive with a well- developed system to protect intellectual property rights. Norway participates fully in all EU research programs and activities. Lithuania is also a fully participating member of the EU.

You can download free guides on the business environments in Norway and Lithuania from Pricewaterhouse Coopers.  You can also learn more about doing business in Norway by visiting: https://www.innovasjonnorge.no/en/start-page/invest-in-norway/.
