Engineering Week is here!

February 21, 2017

Engineering Week (February 19-25) is happening this week. You may have been too busy to participate. Hey, things come up and have to be dealt with – that is what it means to be an engineer! The need will still exist for more students to pursue STEM in post-secondary studies which is vital to our state’s economic and social health. MHTA invites you to consider other opportunities available to serve students.

You can help and there are lots of ways to contribute:

Make an OFFER on getSTEM – We need companies and individuals to offer experiences for students to explore engineering on getSTEM. Check out these OFFERs and consider what you could provide!

Reply to an ASK on getSTEM – We also have some educators who are looking for volunteers for a variety of engineering projects. Check out these ASKs!

Become a STEM Ambassador on getSTEM – The number of new volunteers continues to grow. These are passionate folks who are willing to come to classrooms and talk about engineering or volunteer in other ways around engineering. Check out these STEM Ambassadors!

Host a Tech Experience Tour – We provide a unique event for students interested in learning more about engineering careers and the high tech business world. Arrange to have students come to your workplace, get a tour of the facility, and meet some of the different people in your STEM workforce.

There are other ways to provide a workplace experience for students of all ages – Job Shadows, Mock Interviews, Career Prep Workshops, etc. MHTA would like to work with you to arrange these workforce experiences throughout the year.

Need more help or have any questions? Contact Tim Barrett for more information or assistance. Check out getSTEM and the STEM Ambassadors or the Tech Experience Tours as another way to give back!

Dare to Inspire!
