Mission to China

The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) and Minnesota Trade Office (MTO) are pleased to announce they are jointly organizing a business development mission to Shenzhen and Hong Kong to provide Minnesota’s high tech companies an opportunity to explore business prospects in two of China’s most important and fastest growing cities. The delegation, co-chaired by Kate Rubin, MHTA president, and Tony Lorusso, MTO executive director, will attend China’s top trade show for the high tech industry (China Hi-Tech Fair), visit local technology companies, meet with government officials and industry trade associations, obtain market and industry presentations, and more. In addition to attending the trade fair in Shenzhen, the delegation will visit Hong Kong to acquire market and industry information and to meet business contacts in this dynamic market.

- Promote Minnesota exports to China

ABOUT CHTF
The China Hi-Tech Trade Fair (CHTF) – China’s premier trade exhibition and forum for the hi-tech industry – will be held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (SZCEC) on October 12-17, 2008. Although the trade fair spans seven days, the Minnesota delegation will spend only two days at the trade fair before traveling to Hong Kong. Delegates wishing to extend their visit to the trade fair are welcome to do so. Additional information about CHTF is available online at www.chtf.com/english.
ESTIMATED EXPENSES
The estimated mission fee is $5,000 - $5,500, including roundtrip coach class air travel between Minneapolis and Hong Kong, ground transportation in China, 5 nights hotel accomodations, participation in all mission events, pre-mission breifing and mission preparation materials, and in-country assistance from the Minnesota Trade Office. Airline and hotel upgrades are available for additional fees.
The mission fee does not include incidental personal expenses, unscheduled meals, and visa application fees. The final mission fee is contingent upon the number of delegates and other factors. Applicants selected for the mission will be presented the final mission fee before having to make a final decision to participate.
The Minnesota-China Partnership is a broad-based statewide initiative to strengthen Minnesota's longstanding relationship with China. This collaborative venture engages public and private organizations throughout the state in promoting all facets of Minnesota's connections with China, including trade and investment, science and academia, arts and culture, and friendship and humanitarian endeavors.
