MEMBER BENEFITS
Advocacy
MHTA has established Public Policy Principles and works with paid lobbyists through the Government Affairs Committee to advocate for policies that foster the growth, sustainability and global competitiveness of Minnesota’s technology-based economy. The committee helps identify and raise awareness of issues that impact our technology economy, and supports measures that will help develop the future technology workforce.
Raise awareness and get recognition for your company by sending MHTA your press releases and news. MHTA will publish your company news in our weekly “E-nnouncement.” Opportunities also arise to highlight MHTA members in the media, through interviews, referrals, a bi-monthly magazine column authored by our president, and event and sponsorship ads. Send your news with website links to news@mhta.org.
Collaboration
Member Only Networking Events are free quarterly events…a great forum to exchange ideas, meet other MHTA members, and learn about MHTA programs and initiatives.
The Tekne Awards bring together Minnesota leaders and innovators to recognize and celebrate the efforts that keep Minnesota at the forefront of the global technology market. You may nominate customers, partners, friends, or your own company. Visit www.tekneawards.org.
AeA (Formerly the American Electronics Association) is the nation’s largest high tech trade association. AeA publishes technology industry data, advocates for favorable policies at the federal and international levels, and offers discounts on various business services. Visit www.aeanet.org.
Join a committee. Committee involvement is one of the best ways to get value out of your MHTA membership as well as to network with other leaders in Minnesota’s technology community. Committees include: Government Affairs, Membership, Programs and Events, Higher Education, and K-12 Education with an emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
